Arnold “Arnie” Bevins, age 85 of Blue Lake, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the Heartland Health Care Center in Whitehall. Arnie was born on November 18, 1927 in Muskegon to David Washington and Ethel (Smith) Bevins and later married Arlene Smith on June 29, 1946 at Blue Lake. Arlene preceded him in death on October 31, 2012. Arnie started work as a crane operator at the Shaw Box Company in Muskegon for several years. Arnie also had a long career as the Blue Lake Township Constable of which he served from 1952 until his retirement in 2008. Arnold was a member of the Blue Lake Community Church and enjoyed tinkering in his garage.

Arnie is survived by his children, Ralph Bevins of Twin Lake; Sharon (David) Medema of Holton; Bruce Bevins of Muskegon; Patricia Luttrull of Muskegon; 13 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; his sister, Ruth Hill of Muskegon; his brother, Bob (Nancy) Bevins of Muskegon; several nieces and nephews. Arnold was preceded in death by his sons, Thomas and Eugene Bevins; his sisters, Camilla Shott and Beatice Johnson and his brothers, Sam and Rich Bevins.

MEMORIAL SERVICES : Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 1pm at the Blue Lake Community Church. INTERMENT : Twin Lake Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Blue Lake Community Church.
