Balcom, Carole Ann

 

Carole Ann Balcom, age 71, of Hesperia, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2009, at the Poppen House in Muskegon.  She was born Carole Ann James on  July 10, 1937, in Muskegon, the daughter of David and Marie Cousineau and was raised by Henry and Ruth James.  She married Wayne Sweet Balcom on June 20, 1970, in Muskegon and was employed by the Michigan Employment Security Commission as a data entry clerk for 21 years.

 

Carole is survived by her step-children, Lynne (Tom) Shlaffer of Fremont, Sheryl (Ken) Scissons of Hesperia, and Tim (Karen Hills) Balcom of Hesperia; 3 sisters, Dolores (Clyde) Buckley of Muskegon, Autumn (Robert) Stanley of Chico, California, and Susan (Kerry) McGovern of Muskegon; brother, Kevin Cousineau of Muskegon; 8 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne; step-mother, Estelle Cousineau; and brother, Allen Cousineau.

 

 Memorial services will be held on Monday, May 11, 2009, at the Hesperia Presbyterian Church with Rev Dick Williams officiating.  Interment will be in West Hesperia Cemetery.  For a more lasting memorial, friends may consider The Poppen Hospice Residence in Muskegon.  Friends may also send a condolence or share a memory online at www.crandellfh.com.  Arrangements by Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel.
