Charles, Martha Marie
Martha Marie Charles, age 86 of Muskegon, passed away Sunday, October 24, 1999 at the Hackley Hospital in Muskegon. She was born on July 4, 1913 in Sitka to Perrin and Lillian A. (Storms) Crawford and married Jay H. Charles on December 22, 1936 in Muskegon and had been a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Jay of Muskegon; her daughters, Susan M. Charles of Muskegon; Barbara (James) LaRue of Muskegon; Beverly (Dennis) David of Hesperia; Joyce (Daniel) Light of Muskegon; her son, Orville Charles of Muskegon; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Nicholas Charles in 1968 during the Vietnam Conflict; one sister, Alida Scott; four brothers, Vernon Crawford; Herman Crawford; John Crawford; & Frances Crawford.
