
Christenson, Frieda C.
Our mother, Frieda C. Christenson, has passed away. She left this world on Monday, November 30, 2009. Frieda joins her husband, Christy in Heaven. She also joins her daughter-in-law, Kathy Christenson and 10 brothers and sisters. Frieda was born on February 25, 1914 in Muskegon to Victor and Emma (Youngquist) Erickson and grew up in Muskegon where she graduated from Muskegon High School. Frieda met and later married Elmer “Christy” Christenson on May 25, 1937 in White Cloud. Christy preceded her in death on August 24, 1985. Frieda has been a lifelong resident of the White Cloud area where she was a member of the Swedish Covenant Mission Church and had been active in the Ladies Aid at the Swedish Covenant Mission Church and at the Big Prairie Community Church Ladies Aid while Rev. Elmer “Christy” was pastor from 1967-1979. Frieda enjoyed sewing but especially treasured the time spent with her children, grandchildren, great grand children.
Frieda is survived by her children, Elmore Christenson of Wilmette, Illinois; Emmie (George) Babcock of Allegan; Ruth Schotanus of White Cloud; Elsa Rae (Mike) Jonaitis of White Cloud; Anna (Bob) Clark of Newaygo; Ingrid (Chuck) Thatcher of White Cloud; Chuck (Annette) Christenson of White Cloud; 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
VISITATION : Friday, December 4, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8 FUNERAL SERVICES : Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 11am at the Crandell Funeral Home – White Cloud Chapel. INTERMENT : White Cloud Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : in lieu of flowers, please consider the Newaygo County Commission on Aging Meals on Wheels or Continu Care of Gerber Memorial Health Services.
