Dear Floyd, Jim, Matt, Lori, Dennis, and Jeff.

My thoughts are with you all today as you honor your dad. Since we moved to Iowa when I was 17, I didn’t really get to know him. I do have some fun memories though….Do any of you remember the  ‘joy rides ‘ he would take us on down some really steep streets in G.R.? He’d coast down the hill and wait til the last minute to put on the brakes. I’m sure it was pretty harmless, but as a little kid I remember being scared to death, laughing and screaming we’d tell your dad to “do it again!” Looking back as an adult and as a mother of 3 boys myself, I can really appreciate how attentive he was to Grandma Clark. I remember them talking over a cup of coffee on a very regular basis and she really looked forward to his visits. Although I can’t be with you at the service, I’ll  be thinking of you and your families.

 Sincerely, Your cousin,

 Colleen Weekly Somers
