Richard E. Dobe Sr., age 57, of Holton passed away Thursday October 29, 1998 unexpectedly at home.  He was born in Fremont on September 19, 1941 to Elwin and Catherine G. (Warner) Dobe and married Cheryl Hart on August 1, 1987. He was a former supervisor of Holton Twp. and active in Holton Civic Area Conservation and Beatification. He was an active member of the Holton United Methodist Church and was employed at Phoenix Engineering Company in Muskegon for last 9 years.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

 

Surviving is his wife, Cheryl of Holton; daughter, Kim (Brian) Denhof of Fremont; mother and father Elwin and Catherine Dobe of Holton; stepson,  Richard  (Jean) Carney II of Bridgeton; stepdaughter, Christine Carney of Newaygo; grandchildren  Kayla and Cameron Denhof, Richard Carney III and Wynter Schroeder; 2 sisters Janet (Earl) Langler of Twin Lake, Phyllis Derks (special friend Walter Wittkamp) of Hesperia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Richard in 1982.

 

Funeral Services were held Monday November 2, 1998 at the Fremont United Methodist Church with interment in Oakwood  Cemetery.  For a more lasting memorial, the family asks that friends consider the Holton United Methodist Church Building Fund or the Holton Township New Building Complex, C/O
