Thank you so much for having a lovely farm to see on the way to and from town.  The colors were striking and buildings well maintained.  Seems that one of your sons taught cattle showing for 4-H with Jack Shriver for brothers Dave and Don.
The work history was fascinating as I did not know of those details.  A nephew wanted to be a submariner but is too tall at 6' 7".  Join the service and see the world.
Now our parents, the Shrivers who have died and Mr. Hollowell can have a long chat over the state of the farmland, families, and fairs.  Tractor pull, anyone.
                                                                        Sincerely,

Lena and family,

Sharing twenty years of civic service with Myles on the Sheridan
Charter Township Board was a chunk of my lifetime that I treasure.
You and Linda had to endure many late nights when Myles and I returned
from a board meeting all steamed up over the stress of trying to do
what was best for our community.

I can think of some good laughs that Mike and I had over silly
accusations that constituents sometimes tossed at us during those
years.  Those times too are still vivid in my mind.

Linda and I wish you the best.

Gordon & Linda Oosterhouse

Lena,

Myles suffered for such a long time.  He is at peace.  I have known the Hollowell and Robbins families for 85 years.  John and Bonnie are vacationing in Canada.  I e-mailed them about Myles' passing.  I know John was with you when Larry was in the Ann Arbor hospital.  I also told their daughter Lisa who is one of your granddaughter's good friends.  With sympathy and prayers, Arnold and Mildred Woodring

Mrs. Hollowell,

I want to share my condolences with you and your family on the death of your husband Myles: I worked with Myles for a brief time when he was Supervisor/Assessor in Sheridan Twp. Years ago when I worked for the Equalization Dept. here in White Cloud, he was a very nice man and I remember him well through my association with him at work.  I’m sorry to hear about his passing, it was always a pleasure working with him and I’m sure he will be missed greatly by you and your family.

God bless all you,

Linda (Brown) Landheer

The Myles Hollowell family will forever be fondly remembered as part of my childhood neighborhood.  Myles & Lena, and my parents, Harvey & Rachel Matthews were the epitome of family farm life back then.  Myles was respected as an honorable man.  He will be missed by all whose lives he touched.  May happy memories carry you through this sorrowful time, Lena.  Take heart.  “As long as you live & remember; your loved one lives in your heart”.

Sincerely in Sympathy,

Cathy Moore
