Mr. Robert T. Mooney, age 77, of Fremont passed away Tuesday, May 13, 1997 at the Transitional Health Services in Fremont. He was born on April 7, 1920 in Pontiac, Michigan to Samuel Harrison and Annie Regina (Makey) Mooney and married Ina Ruth Springer on January 18, 1941 in Angola, Indiana. He has been a resident of the Fremont area for the past 40 years where he had been a service technician for the Michigan Bell Telephone Company until his retirement after 35 years. He was a Veteran of World War II where he served in the United States Army. He was an avid golfer and outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife, Ina Ruth; 1 daughter, Shirley (Charles) Nelson of Peoria, Illinois; 3 sons, Edward Robert (Barbara) Mooney of Fremont; David Richard Mooney of Muskegon; Robert James (Sherri) Mooney of Charlotte, North Carolina; 7 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, May 15, 1997 from the Crandell Funeral Home Chapel in Fremont with Rev. George Elliott officiating with interment in Maple Grove Cemetery.
