To the family of Gerald and Carol Sherman,

I was shocked to read that Gerald died.  He was always so friendly, a very outgoing person.  We have missed seeing him in church.  Carol was such a wonderful helpmate.  She did so much for Gerald.  We still have a tearful letter from her, one she wrote when our grandson died so tragically.  At the same time, my sister had terminal cancer.  She wrote a note to express her feelings about our family problems.  It was soon after that when Carol passed on.  Gerald and his wonderful Carol are together now.  We know that is what he wanted.  You have our sympathy.

I was very saddened to hear about Gerald’s passing.  I have such fond memories of the many times we stayed at Gerald and Carol’s for a visit during my childhood.  They always went out of their way to make sure that we had fun.  I always felt very close to both of them and their children.  Having lost both of my parents this past year I can relate to how you must feel.  However it is comforting to know they are in a beautiful place with our Lord.  They are made whole again and Gerald has been reunited with Carol.  They will always have a special place in my heart as do their three children.  I look forward to us cousins being together as often as possible.

With Love and sympathy,

Dear Greg, Kathy and family,

I want you to know, you are in my thoughts and prayers during this time of loss. It is always hard to lose your parent and happening at this time of year seems to make it much more difficult.  May God Bless you in this hour of sadness.

With Sympathy and Prayer,

Greg, Susan, Janeen, & families–

Jackie & I were saddened to hear about your dad’s death.  We have many great
memories of times spent with your mom and dad and hope that similar memories
help to ease your grief.

He was very proud of each of you…and always eager to talk about what was
going on in your lives.

Your dad’s sense of humor was an important part of his personality, and he
never lost the ability to laugh or make me smile…even when I last saw him
and his health wasn’t that good.  And, like my dad, he enjoyed
talking---telling stories and recalling events that happened and about
people that he knew.  I chuckle when I think about how those two could talk
on the phone almost every day…sometime several times…and still not run out
of things to say to each other.  I suspect that they’ve started the
conversations going again!

We’ll miss him, certainly, but we’ll also remind ourselves about how
fortunate we were to have him in our lives, too.

Unfortunately we won’t be able to be with you this weekend, but please know
that our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

Love,

Jim & Jackie Sherman

We want to express our sympathy to you for the passing of your father.  We just heard the news.
We remember the good days of the Sherman/Lubke Hardware.  Anything we needed along that
line, Gerald or Graydon could find it.  He was always pleasant and seemed happy when we visited
him at the Medical Care.
    Sincerely, Eldon & Wilma Durkee
