
Slowik, Walter L.
Walter L. Slowik, age 90 of Holton, passed away Tuesday at the Grand Rapids Home for Veteran’s. Walter was born on June 15, 1919 in Muskegon to Francisco and Helena (Wysocka) Slowik and moved to the Holton area at an early age. Walter married Margaret Miller on Nov. 29, 1941 in Brunswick and Margaret preceded him in death on March 26, 2007. Walter had worked at Teledyne Continental Motors Company in Muskegon as a machine operator until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the St. Michael’s Catholic Church, enjoyed ice fishing, gardening, had been active in the Holton Historical Society, had farmed all his life and could fix anything. Walt served in the US Army Air Force during WW II and was a member of the Holton American Legion.
SURVIVORS : his children, Walter (Linda) Slowik of Holton; Margo (William) Stein of Holton; Mary Ann (Kenneth) Munford of Hesperia; Kathy (James) Giddings of Twin Lake; Michael (Angela) Slowik of Holton; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 half sisters and 1 half brother. Preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Marie Slowik on April 15, 2004; his sister, Helen Loss; brother Raymond Slowik and infant brother.
VISITATION : Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 at Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel ROSARY SERVICES : Thursday at 7pm at the funeral home. MASS OF RESURRECTION : Friday at 11am at St. Michaels Catholic Church. INTERMENT : Oakwood Cemetery in Holton. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : St. Michael’s Catholic Church or Holton Community Center.

To Walt's Family: May each of you find comfort in God's Promise and knowing that your Mom & Dad & Linda are together once again. We will always remember your Dad and how he liked to visit and was always glad to see us sitting behind him in church. Our prayers are with you. Cookie & Ron
