Leora Louise (DeKuiper) Tanis, age 45 of Fremont, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 1995 at her home.  She was born on May 14, 1950 in Fremont to George and Shirley (Shaw) DeKuiper.  She served her country in the United States Navy where she received the National Defense Service Medal.  After her honorable discharge, she worked in the production department at the Gerber Products Company until 1992.

 

She was preceded in death by her father, George H. DeKuiper.  She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Shirley and Forest Wilson of Fremont; 1 sister, Marlene (William) Pavlin of Rothbury; 3 brothers, Randy (Judy) DeKuiper of Fremont; Dan (Betty) DeKuiper of Coopersville; Lon (Jodi) DeKuiper of Fremont; 2 nieces, Shirley Pavlin and Mitzi DeKuiper; 3 nephews, Shaun (Jennifer) Morse; Aaron DeKuiper; Jessie DeKuiper; 1 great nephew, Anthony Morse; several aunts, uncles and cousins; special friends, Bernice Whitney, Jim Armstrong, Robin Dekleva; Gabby, Brownie, Adabelle.

 

Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 25, 1995 from the Ashland Center Church of Christ Church in Grant with Mr. Joe Hatter officiating.  Friends may consider the Fremont Area Foundation for Newygo County Continu-Care or Newaygo County Cancer for memorial contributions.  Envelopes are available at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont.
