Tovey, Annamae C.

 

Annamae C. Tovey, age 81 of Fremont, passed away Friday, November 27, 2009 at the Mercy Hospital in Muskegon.  Annamae was born on May 4, 1928 in Oceana Township to William Wallace and Anna Statia (Strohmier) Hendrickson and has been a lifelong resident of the Fremont area.  Annamae opened Daniel’s Hairstyling in Fremont where she was a beautician many years ago and soon become a homemaker to raise her family.  Annamae married Eugene P. Tovey on May 15, 1952 at the All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont.  Eugene preceded her in death on February 19, 2004.  Annamae enjoyed growing roses, camping, was a former member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed going to coffee at McDonald’s with her friends.  Annamae enjoyed attending fairs and especially enjoyed watching horse pulling and harness racing.  Annamae especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Annamae was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont.

 

Annamae is survived by her children, Joe (Toni) Tovey of Newaygo; James (Karen) Tovey of Norton Shores; Jean Tovey (Ken Currie) of Bailey; her grandchildren, Chanda Espinoza; Shane Tovey; Mark (Janelle) Tovey; Kendra Tovey; Erin Blandford; Eric Blandford; her brother, Albert Hendrickson of Byron Center; her sister, Marcella (Willis) Tovey of Cedar Springs; several nieces and nephews.  Annamae was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Jorgensen Jr. and Eugene P. Tovey; and by her sisters, Margaret Lanpheer and Lorraine Phillips.

 

VISITATION : Tuesday, December 1, 2009 from 10am – 11am at the All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont.  MASS OF RESURRECTION : Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 11am at the All Saints Catholic Church.  INTERMENT : Maple Grove Cemetery.  MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : American Kidney Foundation or the building fund at the All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont.  Friends may send a condolence or share a memory with the Tovey family online at www.crandellfh.com

So sorry to hear about Anna Mae. She was a good neighbor when we ived in town. We shared many cups of coffee. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time.

Please give condolences to Annamae Tovey's family from her sister-in-law Helen.  We are both sorry that we couldn't make the trip up there from here in South Carolina.
