Walker, Beverly M.

 

Beverly M. Walker, age 72 of Hesperia, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 24, 2009 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids.  Beverly was born on October 25, 1937 in Holton to Cecil and Cora (Brown) Spaulding and has been a lifelong resident of the area.  Beverly met and later married Ernest Walker on February 4, 1955 in Bitley and Ernest preceded her in death on March 21, 2005.  Beverly had been a volunteer with the Foster Grandparents program at the Hesperia Elementary Schools for several years and enjoyed playing Bingo, sewing doll clothes, fishing with her children and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was a member of the Aetna Calvary Church.

 

Beverly is survived by her children, Otis W. (Barb) Walker of Olean, New York; Laurinda “Rindy” Sarver of Hesperia; Toni (Donald) Tarpening of Vallejo, California; Rick (Wendi) Walker of Eaton Rapids; Tim (Shannon) Walker of Grand Haven; 18 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Alfred Spaulding of Hesperia; Marge Place of Midland; Bud (Marilyn) Spaulding of Hesperia; Keith (Kay) Spaulding of Hesperia; Barb (Jim) Annis of Hesperia; Evie Bonstell of Crystal Valley; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Beatrice Welch.

 

FUNERAL MEMORIAL SERVICES : Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at 11am at the Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel.  MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Foster Grandparents Program of Newaygo County.  Friends may send a condolence or share a memory with the Walker family online at www.crandellfh.com

Grandma Bev was a blessing to our school.  She will be missed by the students and staff, but we are so fortunate to have had her here with us.

She will be in our memories.
