Hollowell, Larry Lee

Larry Lee Hollowell, age 48 of Fremont, passed away Monday, May 5, 1997 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was born on March 26, 1949 in Fremont to Myles and Len (Robbins) Hollowell and married Opal Ford on December 29, 1971 at the Albridge Community Church in Oceana County. His love of horses was nurtured by the summers spent driving carriages on Mackinaw Island. Many Fremont equestrian team members and Newaygo County 4-H youth fondly called him "Dad". His dream came true last year when he secured his own team of horses and also served as a director for the Newaygo Conservation District for many years. He was a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Opal; 1 daughter, Rachel (Daniel) Hermance of Fremont; 1 son, Camron M. Hollowell of Fremont; his mother and father, Myles and Lena Hollowell of Fremont; 1 brother, Rodney (Robin) Hollowell of Fremont; his mother-in-law, Vera Ford of Hesperia; 2 nieces, Jennifer and Bethany Hollowell of Fremont; 1 nephew Matthew Hollowell of Fremont; and 1 great niece, Ashley Lubbers.

Funeral services were held on Friday, May 9, 1997 from the Fremont United Methodist Church in Fremont with Rev. Dan Duncan officiating with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends may consider the Newaygo Conservation District for memorial contributions. Envelopes are available at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont.
