Phillips, Dwight Allen

Dwight Allen Phillips, age 73 of White Cloud, passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 24, 1990.  He was born on February 19, 1917 in Reed City to Guy Lawrence Phillips and Anna Marie Frantz and later married Grace Thompson on May 15, 1934 in White Cloud.  He was a lifelong resident of the White Cloud area where he owned and operated several saw mills.  He also worked as a heavy equipment operator, and was a member of the AFL CIO Operating Engineers Local #324.  He was also a associate member of the Christ Lutheran Church in White Cloud.

He is survived by his wife, Grace of White Cloud; 1 son, LeRoy (Mary) Phillips of White Cloud; 5 daughters, Mrs. Jack (Delores)  Barnhill of White Cloud; Mrs. John (Marilyn) Keiper of Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. James (Sandra) Albright of Grand Haven; Mrs. Rick (Anna) Foster of White Cloud; Mrs. Everett (Gloria) Rein of Edwardsville, IL.; 28 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 sister-in-law, Ida Allen of Traverse City.  The children and grandchildren have served over 110 years in the military service since 1954.

Funeral services were held on Friday, July 27, 1990 from the Christ Lutheran Church of White Cloud with the Rev. Vernon Schwartz of the Christ Lutheran Church officiating.  Interment following in the Lincoln Twp. Cemetery.  Arrangements by the Crandell Funeral Home in White Cloud.
