John Richard Moon

John Richard Moon, age 66 of Fremont, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024 at the Corewell Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids.  John was born on May 13, 1957 in Fremont to Marvin and Annalee Marguerite (Jensen) Moon and graduated from Fremont High School in 1975.  John has been a lifelong resident of the Fremont area where he had been a builder in home construction from footings to finish work.  John met his life partner, Kathryn Palumbo and John and Kathy have been together for the past 25 years.  John enjoyed golfing, tinkering at home, the Michigan outdoors, and was one to always have a good joke for you.

John is survived by his partner, Kathy Palumbo of Fremont; his brothers, Rodney (Deb) Moon of North Muskegon; William “Bill” (Lois) Moon of Fremont; his sister, Susan (Jim) Waters of Fremont; several nieces and nephews; Kathy’s children – Tony (Lanna) Palumbo and their children, Bianka and Collin of Kaleva; Rosie (Jesse) Nemecek and their children, Drake and Esme of Sparta; Kathy’s mother – Maxine Fye of Grand Rapids.  John was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Annalee Moon and by his sister, Jane McAllister. 

Visitation - Saturday, April 13, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Bailey Christian Church 17635 Pearl Street Bailey MI 49303.  Celebration of Life Services - Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Bailey Christian Church 17635 Pearl Street Bailey MI 49303 with a time of fellowship to follow at the church.  Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Fremont Moose Lodge in memory of John.  Friends may send a condolence or share a memory with the Moon/Palumbo Family online at www.crandellfh.com.  Arrangements by Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel.  231-924-0800.
