Donna Mae Deephouse of Fremont, passed away on September 21, 2017 at her home with the aid of Hospice while surrounded by her family. Donna was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin on October 23, 1940. She is survived by her husband, Jess Deephouse after 56 years of marriage; children, Mark and wife Jodi, Amy, and Chad; grandchildren, Casey, Joshua, Chelsea, and Irah; brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Marguerite and family.
Donna attended Michigan State University and graduated from Hackley School of Nursing in 1962 as a registered nurse. She worked at Gerber Memorial Hospital and The Newaygo County Health Department until her retirement in 1999. She was also Camp Nurse over 10 summers at the Evanston YMCA Camp Echo in Fremont; Zonta President and participated in the Jaycee’s Auxiliary among other activities.
A private graveside service for immediate family and close friends will be held at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont on April 7, 2018 at 1pm where Donna’s cremated remains will be laid to rest. The public is invited to attend a social gathering at 2pm at the RWDSU Local 530 Union Hall 5960 South Warner Fremont MI 49412 where food and beverages will be served and a time to celebrate and share memories of Donna will be held.
