Ernest Edwin Mason

Ernest Edwin Mason, age 90 1/2, of Holton passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018, at his home. Ernest was born on September 7, 1927, in Central Lake, Michigan, to Frank Elliott and Nellie Madora (Glasier) Mason and married Lenabelle Dewey on November 13, 1951. Ernest retired from Sealed Power in Muskegon as a machine operator and always stayed busy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, building, and canning fruits and vegetables that he grew on the farm. He cherished time with his family and was always helping others. Ernest proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion.

Ernest is survived by his children, Ragina (Neil) Robinson of Ravenna, Peggy (Mark) Huebner of Muskegon, Valerie R. Jordan of Muskegon, John E. Mason of Holton, and Jodie L. Halvorsen of Ravenna; grandchildren, Tammy (Jeff) Swanson, Shannon (Mark) Socher, Trisha (Brian) Cooper, Denise (Terry) Sabo, Wendy (Russell) White, Bryan (Melissa) Fossler, Amanda (Tony) Campbell, Kevin Unger, Ricky Mason, Michael Mason, Sheila Mason, Steffen (Andrea) Halvorsen, Nathan (Kayelee) Halvorsen, and Craig Halvorsen; 23 great-grandchildren; 18 great great-grandchildren; sisters, Ona and Iva; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his wife, Lenabelle in 2003, and his son, Ricky Lee Mason.

Per Ernest’s wishes, there will be no services at this time.
