Obituary

Ada A. Pipok, age 90 of White Cloud, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at the Oceana Seniors Adult Foster Care Home in Hart. Ada was born on October 28, 1918 in Ecourse, Michigan to John Harris and Minnie (Olver) Hill and met and later married Frank Pipok on November 26, 1936 in Detroit. Frank preceded her in death on December 20, 2002. Ada had been a check sorter machine operator for many years for the National Bank of Detroit and later moved to the White Cloud area in 1969 from Detroit. Ada was an artist and painter and had won various awards for her painting over the years and also enjoyed writing, especially poetry. Ada had been active in the White Cloud community serving on various boards and organizations including, White Cloud Area Senior Advisory Board; White Cloud Area Community Education Advisory Council; Community Education Task Force for Senior Citizens; volunteer art teacher at the White Cloud Senior Center and Community Education offices; active member of the local AARP chapter, serving as legislative chairperson for several years; Wilcox Township Planning Commission for several years and serving as vice chairperson and chairperson for several years; White Cloud Singers; Gerber Memorial Hospital Continu-Care Advisory Council; local MDOT advisory board. Ada was also an active volunteer at the Newaygo County Commission on Aging where she was the recipient of the Eleanor Hargrove Award, presented to the Area Agency on Aging in West Michigan for contributions to the adult community in West Michigan. Ada was also a member of the White Cloud United Methodist Church where she had sang in the choir for10 years. Ada is survived by her children, Arthur E. Pipok and partner Robert Jellinski of Baldwin; Nancy L. (Ronald) Koposky of Hart; Bonnie D. (Dan) Clary of Big Rapids; 4 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1great great grandchildren; her sister, Delores E. Robinson of Palmversville, Tennessee. Ada was preceded in death by her husband, Frank and by her brother, Marvin E. Hill. VISITATION : Saturday, February 14, 2009 from 3-6pm and Sunday from 1-2 at Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Sunday, February 15, 2009 at 2pm at the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel with Pastor Lucky Fulton of the Amazing Grace Acres Church presiding. INTERMENT : Lincoln Township Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Hospice of Michigan, Ludington Office.
