Briggs, Adelia Ann Adelia Ann (Doering) Briggs, age 90 of Spring Lake, formerly of White Cloud, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, October 19, 2005. She was born on June 16, 1915 in White Cloud to August and Elsie (Hartstock) Doering and later married Chester A. Briggs on October 3, 1937 at the Christ Lutheran Church in White Cloud. Adelia graduated from White Cloud High School in 1933 and loved going to the Alumni Banquets. She was a life long member of the Christ Lutheran Church in White Cloud and was also a friend of the Spring Lake Presbyterian Church. Adelia was a kind and caring person who loved to cook and make peanut butter fudge to send to Judy every Christmas and take to her co-workers when she worked at Birds Food Market. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, Chester either through the ice or using her lucky cane pole. Her latest favorite pass time was playing cards and Bingo and visiting with her friends and neighbors at Evergreen Village where she lived the last seven years. She also enjoyed being part of the Spring Lake Presbyterian Tuesday craft group. Adelia request for her 90th birthday was to gamble in Manistee. Adelia is survived by her daughters, Judy (Jim) Bielenberg of Moscow, Idaho; Joyce (Paul) Aldridge of Spring Lake; 5 grandchildren, Michael & Katie Aldridge; Tori, David and Jay Bielenberg; her brother-in-law, Ken (Ruth) Briggs of Fruitport; 2 sister-in-laws, Joan Briggs of Muskegon; Marge Briggs of Allendale; special nephew, Edwin Doering of Nunica; 2 long time friends, Lula Moore of Fremont and Frieda (Eldred) Zettles of Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester on December 6, 1980; her sister, Edna McLain and her brothers, Edwin and Alfred Doering. Adelia will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services were held on Monday, October 24, 2005 at the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel with Rev. Dan Anderson of the Spring Lake Presbyterian Church presiding with interment in the White Cloud Cemetery.
