Albert J. A.J. Moore, age 80 of Brohman, formerly of Fremont, passed away Monday, October 11, 2010 at the Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Hospital in Fremont. A.J. was born on May 27, 1930 in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Roy V. and Mahala (Hadley) Moore and moved to the Fremont area in 1937. He started A.J. Moore Plumbing and Heating in 1978 and continued until he was joined by his son, Scott to form A.J. Moore and Son Plumbing and Heating which later became Moore and Paulsen Plumbing and Heating in 1993. A.J. worked until his retirement in 1995. After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and watching the birds. A.J. served in the United States Army during the Korean War and received a purple heart. A.J. is survived by his sons, Scott (Luci) Moore of Fremont; Rick (Deb) Moore of Fremont; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren, his brothers, Roy (Esther) Moore Jr. of Fremont; Robert (Lila) Moore of Fremont; his sisters, Dorotha Brownfield of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Donna Thenikl and Kathleen Pyle. Following his wishes, cremation has taken place and a time of remembrance will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2010 from 5-7pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. Friends may consider the NCCS Childrens Christmas Fund for memorial contributions in memory of A.J. TO THE FAMILY OF A. J. MOORE: WE WERE SHOCKED AND SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR DEAR ONE'S DEATH. MAHALA WAS OUR NEIGHBOR AND NO ONE COULD HAVE ASKED FOR A BETTER NEIGHBOR. SHE RAISED A WONDERFUL FAMILY. A. J. IS NOW WITH THAT WONDERFUL PERSON, INCLUDING HIS FATHER.
