Alice K. Zerlaut, age 93, of Muskegon and formerly of Holton, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2009, at Golden Years Personal Care Home in Muskegon. Alice was born on December 3, 1915, in Ashland, MI., to Walter Rome and Hattie Mae (Stamper) Adkins and had owned and operated Cedar Creek Adult Foster Care for many years. Alice married Clifford Coon on December 3, 1932 Clifford preceded Alice in death on March 31, 1981. She then married Floyd S. Zerlaut on June 6, 1986 Floyd preceded her in death on April 2, 2006. Alice was active in the Sitka Womans Group, 500 Card Group in Holton, UMW in Holton, and also was active with Floyd in the North Muskegon Soil Conservation District. Alice was a member of the Holton United Methodist Church. Alice is survived by her children, Peggy Jean (Thomas) Buckner of Holton, Clifford (Vivian) Coon of Muskegon, David (Fien) Coon of Cape Coral, FL., Virginia (Gerald) Townsend of Fremont, and Leonard (Rose) Coon of White Cloud; 25 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; brother Claude (Dorothy) Adkins of Leesburg, Fl.; sisters, Ruth Walker of Muskegon and Iris (Will) Roland of Vandalia, OH.; son-in-law, Tom Carson of South Haven; daughter-in-law, Juanita Coon of Fremont; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husbands, Clifford and Floyd; son, Walter; daughter, Alice K. Carson; 2 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sister, Bess; brothers, Jesse and Arthur. Visitation was held from 5 8 PM on Monday, May 4, 2009, at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont. Funeral services were held at 11 AM, Tuesday, at the Holton United Methodist Church.
