Earnestly, Tenderly Jesus is calling, come Home, come Home, Allan you're weary come Home, Allan Lee Grevel answered His call on Sunday, January 2, 2022 and is now in his Heavenly Home. Allan was born on September 26, 1937 in Grand Haven, MI to Adrian and Sennette (Gankema) Grevel and graduated from Grand Haven High School in 1956. Allan joined the United States Navy and proudly served active and reserve duty from 1954 – 1961 aboard the USS Mississinewa Tanker Ship in the Mediterranean Sea. He met and later married Marilyn Kay Dyksterhouse on March 25, 1960 in Grand Rapids. Allan raised his family, worked and worshiped in Grand Haven for 42 years. He had worked at Story & Clark Piano Company, Peel Bros., Grand Haven Gasket Company and United Technologies until his retirement and then moved to DeTour Village in 2002 where he enjoyed living across from Lake Huron, surrounded by the woods and water. He had enjoyed woodworking, tinkering and fixing things, going to meet the "coffee group" every morning and singing in the DeTour Area Community Choir. Allan also enjoyed restoring wooden boats, and had restored a 1962 corvette and 1964 Studebaker Avanti. He later moved to Fremont in 2017. Allan was a member of the Reeman Christian Reformed Church, past member of the Union Presbyterian Church, DeTour Village and past member of Second Reformed Church in Grand Haven. Allan is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Fremont; his son, Randall 'Randy" (Nancy) Grevel of Grand Haven; his grandchildren, Lauren Grevel and Branden Grevel; several nieces and nephews, cousins and brother-in-law, Andrew Groenink. Allan was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Brenda Griswold; his sister, Sharon Meyer and his sister-in-law, Shirley Groenink.
