Obituary

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Allen Grant Witham, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, on Friday, December 13th, 2024, at the age of 88. Allen, a long-time resident of Hesperia Michigan, was born on January 7th, 1936, in Muskegon, Michigan, to Adolph and Blanche Witham.

He is survived by his loving children: Brenda (Max) Philo of Greenville, MI, Sandra (John) Mitteer of Shelby, MI, and David (Cassie) Witham of Fremont, MI. He has nine grandchildren, sixteen great- grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren. He joins in eternal rest with his wife of 61 years, Lois Jane (Reynolds) Witham, and their son, Mark Alan Witham. Allen was also preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ronald Witham, and his sister Valarie Cilla..

Allen dedicated his career to being a skilled Tool and Die Maker, a profession he was passionate about. Outside of work, Allen found joy in the simplicity of life - hunting, fishing, and woodworking filled his hours. He was active in the Boy Scouts and coaching little league baseball. He loved attending sporting events at the school. He was a HUGE University of Michigan fan and loved to watch many different sports. He enjoyed driving his antique John Deere riding tractor in parades and going to the Buckle old engine show where he and is son in law John had a John Deere display. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

There will not be a service at this time. A celebration of life will take place in the Spring of 2025 with burial of ashes. Arrangements and services are being provided by Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont.
