Obituary

Andy T. Demogola Sr. age 66 of Hesperia and formerly of Melstrand, passed away Wednesday evening, January 25, 2012 at his home following a short illness. Andy was born on September 17, 1945 in Melstrand, Michigan to the late Steven Casper and Ida Christina (Dolbeck) Demogola. Andy attended William B. Mather Middles School and joined the United States Army where served during the Vietnam War from January 13, 1963 until his honorable discharge on December 4, 1964. Andy married Linda Mae Rochefort on July 31, 1965 in Munising. He worked as a security guard, truck driver, sawyer for many years and had also been a millright at CCI in Singleton. Andy retired in April 2001 to take care of his wife, Linda. Andy made it his life mission to make sure she was taken care of. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and loved to sing Karaoke. He also enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, tinkering around the house, building new things, playing horse shoes and was a big Brett Favre fan. Andy is survived by his wife, Linda Mae Demogola of Hesperia; his children, Andy (Trish Brock) Demogola Jr. of Breckinridge, Colorado; Brenda (Frank) Bixby of Hesperia; Thomas (Angie) Demogola of Hesperia; David (Jenny) Demogola of White Cloud; 18 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; former daughters-in-laws, Kim Demogola and Annette Brumm; his sister, Donna (Bill) McKenzie of Munising; his sister-in-law, Joy Bower of North Muskegon; several nieces and nephews. Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Ida; brothers and sisters, Joel Bower, Loretta Stone, Lucille Bower, Rosella Adkins, Mary Ross, Steven Demogola, Walt Bower and Thomas Bower. VISITATION : Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 3-6pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Monday, January 30, 2012 at 10:30am at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. INTERMENT : East Hesperia Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Newaygo County Veterans Affairs Offices.
