Angela "Angie" E. Ward, age 47 of Fremont, formerly of Hesperia, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. Angie was born on June 11, 1972 in Hart to Elliot "Andy" and Margaret "Marge" (Hunter) Slocum and graduated from Hesperia High School in 1991. Angie married Robert Ward on September 26, 1998 in Brunswick. Angie had worked at Plumb's Market, Bills Shop & Save and currently at Meijer's in Fremont as a clerk and was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont. Angie enjoyed spending time with her family, taking short vacations, watching movies, gardening at her home and shopping at thrift stores in the area. Angie is survived by her husband, Robert Ward of Fremont; her mother, Margaret "Marge" Slocum of Fremont; her father-in-law, Robert Ward of Fremont; her brother, Andrew (Lisa) Slocum of Hesperia; her uncles and aunts, Richard Slocum of Holton; Rose McCastle of Fremont; Mari Lou Schihl of Fremont; Suzanne (Chris) Willea of Muskegon; Mary Balcom of Hesperia; Sally Fuller of Big Rapids; several cousins; her sister-in-law, Catherine "Katie" (Keith) Vogel of Fremont and their children, Quinn and Corbin; brother-in-law, Stephen "Steve" (Laura) Ward of Bailey, Colorado and their children, Ivan, Maxim, Katya, and Mila. Angie was preceded in death by her father, Elliot "Andy" Slocum on April 5, 2016.
