Anita Mae (DeWitte) Bradshaw was born on March 2nd in the same year the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was passed, 1920. She loved God and church, family and country, but also gave her heart to politics: census taker, poll worker, devoted Republican, champion for American Decency. Her tiny figure was always "on the go" for town halls, committees, surveys and meetings for any patriotic and God-fearing purpose.

The love of her life was Henry Charles Bradshaw, at that time a handsome young lifeguard and bus driver from Muskegon. He wooed, won and married her on January 20, 1940. She was the straight man in their comedy duo until his death in 1998. Their marriage produced four children: David Henry (Judy) of Kalamazoo, Daniel Lee (Teresa) of Plainwell, the late Nancy Luchies (Larry) of Fremont and Jane Bradshaw Finch (Bob Reifsnyder) of Appleton, Wisconsin. These children gave her ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren, although grandson Matthew Bradshaw preceded her to Heaven. Special joys of her life were her honorary daughter Janie Stroschin and husband Michael. At Fountain View she had a glorious bond of love and banter with her caregiver and friend, Pat Trapp

On her 90th birthday she retired from a volunteer position at the Gerber Hospital Gift Shop. Besides community activism, her passions were cats, Sousa marches, coin collecting, DeWitte family history, community theater, Beanie Babies and playing Sequence at the Methodist Church.

VISITATION : Friday, October 13, 2017 from 12-2pm at the First Reformed Church 348 E Main Street Fremont MI 49412. FUNERAL SERVICES : Friday, October 13, 2017 at 2pm at the First Reformed Church. INTERMENT : Maple Grove Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp.
