Anita Irma Dare, age 81 of Fremont passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023, at the Newaygo County Compassion Home. Anita was born on October 25, 1941, in Baltimore, Maryland to Edward P. and Daisy E. (Gibson) McIntire and later married Kenneth R. Dare Sr. in 1984, sharing 34 years together. Anita enjoyed gardening, flowers, painting, sewing, studying genealogy, animals, and in her younger years building doll houses with her husband Ken. Anita is survived by her dog "Stormy" and several special friends. She was preceded by her husband, Kenneth in 2018; son, Robert N. Halford; brother, Edward P. McIntire Jr.; and sisters, Patricia Poggie and Ceclia Emich. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the Crandell Funeral Home with Pastor Bryan Tanis officiating. There will be visitation at the funeral home starting at 1 PM prior to the service. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.
