Ann E. Davis, age 92 of Fremont, formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2020 at the Regency Nursing Home (formerly Transitional Health Services) in Fremont following a 6 year illness with Alzheimer's Dementia. Ann was born Annabelle Weimer on July 29, 1928 in Morgantown, West Virginia to Edgar and Ruby (Holland) Weimer. She later changed her name to Anne Eileen Weimer and married Lawrence Davis on March 30, 1951 in Indiana. Lawrence preceded her in death. Ann had been a longtime resident of the Grand Rapids area and had worked on the 9th floor of the Grand Rapids City Hall as a secretary for many years until her retirement in 1991. Ann enjoyed traveling, spending time in Arizona, going to museums and art, reading, square dancing, playing cribbage and bridge, water exercises even though she could not swim and was a member of the Red Hat Society.
Ann is survived by many family members and friends including some of her grandchildren, Julia (Jim) VanTreese, Nathan (Diana) Davis, Tierney (George) Braun, Sky Davis, Carrie Wiseman, Ryan Halverson, Violet Mika; several great grandchildren; her former daughter-in-law, Rose Neihardt, special friend, Gloria Yff; her niece, Vondelle Davore. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Davis and her brother, Thomas Weimer.
A memorial gathering will be held in the summer of 2021 to remember and celebrate Ann's life.
