Anna Laura Dakin, age 80 of White Cloud, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the Newaygo County Compassion Home in Fremont. Anna was born on June 21, 1941 in Dayton Township to Jacob "Jack" and Nellie Marie (DeWitte) Schornagel and graduated from Fremont High School in 1959. Anna married Milton Dakin on November 25, 1960 in Fremont, Michigan and she began her journey in life as she followed her husband around the world while he was serving in the United States Air Force. Anna had worked at various Air Force Bases including – at the Government Housing Department at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany for six years; San Bernardino County, California Board of Realtors; and 16 years as the Medical Staff Coordinator at David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base, California. Anna was an avid gardener, cat lover, loved butterflies, and had a great sense of humor. Anna is survived by her husband and soulmate of over 61 years, Milton of White Cloud; her son, Michael (Liz) Dakin of Croton; her brothers, Henry (Svetlana) Schornagel of Woodbridge, Virginia; Kurt Schornagel of White Cloud; Karl (Mary Lou) Schornagel of Woodbridge, Virginia; brothers-in-laws, Robert (Grace) Dakin of White Cloud; Donald (Diana) Dakin of Raleigh, North Carolina; Frank Horvath of White Cloud; Barb (Buck) Geno of White Cloud. Anna was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob "Jack" and Nellie Schornagel; her sister, Jean Morton; her brother, Jacob "Jack" Richard Schornagel; sister-in-law, Annette Smith.
