Dirette, Anthony C. Anthony C. Dirette, age 53 of Newaygo, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 9, 2006 at his home in Newaygo. Tony was born on June 5, 1952 in Detroit to Oscar and Jannie (Hawk) Dirette and married Edy Brouillette on July 15, 1972 in Walled Lake. He has been a resident of the Newaygo area for the past 35 years and had been an instructor at HOPE Network in Cedar Springs until his medical retirement in January 2004. Tony graduated from Jordan College with a Bachelors of Arts Degree and was a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church. He enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his 8 grandchildren who called him Poppa. Tony served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Edy of Newaygo; his children, Stephanie (Robert) Brown of Newaygo; Derek (Kelley) Dirette of Newaygo; Aaron (Katie) Dirette of Newaygo; a dear Poppa to his 8 grandchildren, Andrea, Madison, A.J., Zach, Jordan, Cole, Brice, Kaylee; his sisters, Norma (Jerry) Suchner of White Cloud; Anita (Roger) Ostergren of Howell; Ronda (Arnold) Maddy of Howell; several nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Joyce Brouillette of Walled Lake; sisters and brothers-in-law, Denise; Jeanne (Pete); Bill (Roxanne); George (Terry) Nomi (Harry). He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Jannie Dirette. Funeral memorial services were held on Saturday, April 15, 2006 at the Fremont United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Wood presiding with visitation from 10-11am at the church. Friends may consider the Fremont United Methodist Church for memorial contributions in memory of Tony.
