Arlene Frodey, age 89, of Fremont passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017, at her home. Arlene was born on May 23, 1927, in North Muskegon to Phillip and Wilma (Hathaway) Woodhouse and married Jack Smith, who preceded her in death in 1975. She later married Ray Frodey on January 8, 1982. Arlene retired from Gerber Products Company as a Marketing Research Analyst after over 30 years with the company. Arlene was a fierce conservationist and a published genealogist. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and had a passion for photography traveling the world with Ray photographing nature. Together they enjoyed scuba diving and underwater photography.
Arlene is survived by her children, Mike Smith of White Cloud, Merrilee (Chuck) Reisling of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Jack (Kim) Smith of Taos, New Mexico; step-children, Carol Frodey of Thailand, Christine (Ray) Drommond of Oregon, and Michelle (Eric) Hutchins of Montana; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray in 2016, and by her three sisters.
A Celebration Of Life for Arlene and Ray will be held from 1 - 3 PM on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at the Frodey home. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to consider the Shriner's Hospitals for Children. Friends may share memories and condolences online at www.crandellfh.com.
