Arlene L. Murat, age 87 of Twin Lake, passed away Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Poppen Hospice Residence in Muskegon. Arlene was born on November 20, 1928 in Muskegon to Eugene and Alvena (Brammer) Forton and graduated from St. Jean Catholic School in 1946. Arlene later met and married Edward Murat on October 28, 1950 in Muskegon. Ed preceded her in death on November 10, 2012. Arlene has been a resident of the Twin Lake area since 1956 where she had worked at Howmet as a work group leader for many years until her retirement in 1990. Arlene enjoyed bowling for over 50 years at Northway Lanes, enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting, being in the Michigan outdoors, traveling and fishing with Ed, and spending time with her grandchildren. Arlene is survived by her children, Jean (Richard) Schneider of Twin Lake; Carl (Deborah) Murat of Muskegon; Debra A. Murat of Twin Lake; Linda (Wade) Koch of South Elgin, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; 19 + 1 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sister, Robert Forton, Henry Pat Forton, Eugene Forton, Geraldine (Forton) Baker and Tony Forton. VISITATION : Wednesday, April 20, 2016 from 5-8pm at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel (7193 W 48th Street Fremont MI 49412). FUNERAL SERVICES : Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. INTERMENT: Oakwood Cemetery in Holton.
