Armendia Mindy Smith found her rest on September 20, 2008, and was born on July 15, 1930, in Mississippi to the late Houston and Pearlee White. Mindy was the youngest of ten children and accepted Christ at an early age. As a young girl Armendia moved to White Cloud, Michigan with her dad and family in the 1940s. As a teenager she moved to Ecorse, Michigan with her sister, Jeraldine. Armendia married Leroy Smith and to this union two daughters were born, Carolyn and Claudette. Mindy began working at Veterans Hospital in 1974 as a dietician food service worker. In 1988 she retired from Veterans Hospital. After retiring she moved back to White Cloud, Michigan where she always wanted to return. She loved gardening and the great outdoors Mindy leaves to cherish her memory two daughters; Carolyn (Leroy) and Claudette; one sister, MattieBell Johnson; one sister-in-law, Hattie White; 4 grandchildren, Leroy Jr., Lawrence Sr., Kimberly and Cassandra; 6 great-grandchildren, Shantell, Darrell, Lawrence Jr., LaNique, AShawn, Shonte; and a host of other relatives and countless friends. Funeral services were held on Friday, September 26, 2008 at the Crandell Funeral Home - White Cloud Chapel with interment in the White Cloud Cemetery.
