Arthur David Lewis, age 77, of White Cloud passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2003 , at home. He was born on March 27, 1925 , in Grand Rapids to Arthur Edward and Nellie (Gronso) Lewis and married Dorothy Roberts on April 12, 1947 , in Grand Rapids . He was a truck driver for Michigan Transportation Inc. prior to his retirement in 1975 and was an avid hunter and storyteller. He was an Army veteran of WW II, member of the Croton American Legion Post #381, and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Arthur is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dorothy; 3 daughters, Peggy (Bill) Manning of Rockford, Marilyn Campbell of Grand Rapids, and Deborah (Dean) Ulrich of Wyoming; 5 sons, Arthur (Yvonne) Lewis of Belmont, William (Valerie) Lewis of Moline, Robert (Deborah) Lewis of Cedar Springs, James (Barbara) Lewis of Rockford, and Gerald (Michelle) Lewis of West Olive; 19 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Elaine Pierce of Grand Rapids, Phyllis Wyma of Oregon, and Nellie (Bill) Jones of Dowling; 2 brothers, Willis (Marilyn) Lewis of Kent City and Charles (Joyce) Lewis of Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his sister Lorraine Lewis. Visitation and Rosary were held on Tuesday, March 18, at the Crandell Funeral Home Chapel in White Cloud. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 am Wednesday from the St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Cloud with Father Tony Russo presiding. A military salute with full military honors was presented by the Croton American Legion Post #381. Interment was in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Wyoming.
