Obituary

Audrey Jane Hopkins, age 86, of Fremont, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Regency at Fremont. Audrey was born on November 17, 1937, in Fremont to Leon and Viva (Bisard) Platt and had worked at Sealed Power as a Data Processor. She also had worked at the Fremont times Indicator and as a crossing guard for the City of Fremont. Audrey enjoyed raising and showing Arabian horses at Walnut Ridge Arabian Farms. She was a member of the West Michigan Arabian Horse Association and liked to go to horse shows and watch horse racing. Audrey loved cats and dogs and going to art fairs in the area.

Audrey is survived by her daughter, Jan (Jerry) Smith of Twin Lake; grandchildren, Brittney (Josh) Morse and Victoria (Brock) Hill; great-grandchildren, Kallie, Brezlynn, McKenzie, Molly, and Emma; sister, Joanne Castle; brother-in-law, Del Sweet; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Eileen Sweet and brother-in-law Bob Castle

A time of visitation will be held from 11 am – 1 pm on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont with interment following at Ashland Center Cemetery in Grant.  Friend's are asked to consider the Alzheimer's Association for a more lasting memorial.
