Audrey J. Kemmerling, age 91 of Newaygo, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at the Transitional Health Services in Fremont. Audrey was born on September 22, 1928 in Newaygo to Arthur and Hazel (Barker) Overley and graduated from Newaygo High School in 1947. Audrey has been a lifelong resident of Newaygo County where she had been a nurse's aide at the Meadows Nursing Center in Fremont for many years until her retirement. Audrey was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fremont and enjoyed drawing, sketching, and art. Audrey is survived by her daughter, Jeannie (Terry) Kline of Grant; her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild – Audrey's granddaughter, Leanne Minshall and her children (great grandchild), Jordan Dirette and her daughter (great great grandson), Remington Schwartz; (great grandson), Zoe Samuel; Audrey's grandson Jason Anderson and his children, (great grandsons) Zachary Anderson and Tristen Pereale. Audrey was preceded in death by her son, Leland "Lee" Kemmerling; her brother, Lyle Beaman and her sister, Jessie Omans. Following Audrey's wishes, cremation has taken place and interment will be in the Newaygo Cemetery next to her son Lee.
