August Emmett Davis, age 76 of White Cloud, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at the Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Hospital in Fremont. Augie was born on March 31, 1945 in Everett Township to Chauncey LeRoy and Virginia (Bidelman) Davis and graduated from White Cloud High School in 1963. Augie met and married Helen Harris on June 5, 1965 in White Cloud and has been a lifelong resident of the White Cloud area. Augie had been a truck driver and later retired from the Parts Plus Auto Sales in White Cloud. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, playing the guitar, writing poetry, reading Louis L'Amour westerns and had been a Little League Baseball coach in Newaygo and White Cloud for several years. Augie treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren but the greatest joy in his life was his wife, Helen. Augie is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen of White Cloud; his children and grandchildren , son – Chance (Janice) Davis of White Cloud and their children, Laurieal Snyder, Shane Davis, Trent Davis; Marcelo Mercuri; daughter – Michelle (Randy) Barrett of White Cloud and their children, Michael Barrett, Randee (Kyle) Morey; Kevin (Kari) Barrett, Cyle Barrett; daughter – Tricia (Chris) Cooper of Fremont and their children, Kaitlyne Davis, Nicholas Davis, Brian (Whitney) Hawkins, Hannah Cooper, Dani Cooper; his sister, Phyllis Green of White Cloud; Darrell (Sharon) Davis of Cedar Springs; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Augie was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Craigmyle, his fathers, Chauncey Davis and Clarence Craigmyle; his sisters, Nancy Clark, Ila Page, and Ruth Craigmyle; 2 infant brothers, Johnny and Norman.
