August W. Plas Jr. age 64 of White Cloud, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 25, 2007 following a truck accident near Michigan City, Indiana. August was born on April 14, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan to August and Ann (Kozlowski) Plas Sr. and later married Helen Szymanski on September 15, 1973 in Detroit. August has been a resident of the White Cloud area for the past 20 years when he moved from Detroit. August was currently a truck driver for K W Express in Belding and attended the St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Cloud. August enjoyed gun collecting and watching western movies. August also served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam Era. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Helen of White Cloud; his son, Joe (Melissa) Plas of Muskegon; his grandchildren, Wyatt, Riley, Alex, Logan; his sister, Pat (Tony) Thompson of New Hudson; his god daughter, Virginia Payton of Westland. Funeral memorial services were held on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 1:00 pm a the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel with Rev. Father Thomas Boufford of the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Newaygo presiding. Friends may consider the August Plas Jr. Family to assist with funeral expenses.
