Garcia, Augustine Gus J Augustine J. Gus Garcia, age 67 of Fremont, went to be with his Lord on Monday, March 8, 2004 at the Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. He was born on November 8, 1936 in Fondu Lac, Wisconsin to Guadelupe and Marie (Andrews) Garcia and married Helen Lena Sanchez on May 2, 1959 in Chicago . Gus has been a resident of the Fremont area since 1973 when he and Lena moved from Chicago . He had worked at Gerber Products Company in the cereal department until his retirement in 1993 and enjoyed watching football and his vegetable garden. He was a member of Resurrection Life Church of Newaygo. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Helen Lena of Fremont; his daughter, Charmaine (Ray) Gould of Hamilton; his sons, Rudy (Cindy) Garcia of Fremont; Tony (Lisa) Garcia of Fremont; his grandchildren, Jason (Jenny) Gould; Brandon Gould; Jennifer Gould; Vanessa Gould; Nick Garcia; Crystal Garcia; Michael Garcia; Jeremy Orr; Celina Garcia; his great grandson, Orion Gould; his brothers, Tony (Charlotte) Garcia of Fremont; Rudy (Janet) Garcia of Chicago; Emil (Meche) Garcia of Chicago; his sister, Lynn LaPlaca of Chicago; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 11, 2004 from the Resurrection Life Church in Newaygo with Rev. Paul Ruzinsky of Resurrection Life Church presiding with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery . Friends are asked to consider the Resurrection Life Church of Newaygo for memorial contributions.
