Autherine Catherine Richardson, age 80 of Grand Rapids, passed away November 6, 2015 at the Spectrum Health Blodgett Campus in Grand Rapids. Autherine Richardson, who later changed her name to Catherine and was affectionately known as Cat Momma to some, was born on May 6, 1935 in Mobile, Alabama to the later Ebenezer and Josephine Richardson. Autherine worked as a Nurses Aide at various hospitals until she became employed at Zenith Electronics in Chicago. She retired from Zenith after 30 years of service as an inspector of picture tubes. Autherine enjoyed family cookouts and listening to the blues in her spare time. Autherine was the mother of three children who survive her Freddie of White Cloud; Morris (Tonya) of Maywood, Illinois; Alicia of Grand Rapids. Also surviving Autherine are 12 grandchildren, Freddie, Payne, Latoria, Latasha, Camille, Tenneil, Danny, Jermayne, Morris, Nataia, Levon, and DeMorrion. She is also survived by two sisters, Annie Holland and Lucille (James) Hampton of Grand Rapids and Willie (Denotra) Richardson of Chicago, Illinois and one brother-in-law, James Warren of Bolingbrook, Illinois. Additionally, Autherine was a great grandmother to 15 and a great great grandmother to three. Autherine leave behind a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and loving friends as well. This rose of life was called home on November 6, 2015 where she will be reunited with her parents, three sisters, Rosie Richardson, Everlener Baines and Ethel Mar Warren and one brother-in-law, Itch Baines. Funeral services were held on Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel with Rev. Jeff Murchison of the Glory of Latter House Ministries presiding with interment in the Sherman Township Cemetery.
