Barbara M. Bacon, age 86 of Fremont, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility following long decline in her health. Barb was born on June 17, 1935 in Muskegon to Clifford and Leona (Bedeker) Willis and graduated from Fremont High School in 1953. Barb met and married Robert "Bob" Bacon on July 31, 1954 and Bob preceded her in death on September 19, 2007. Barb had worked at Fremont Insurance in Fremont for several years in the claims department until her retirement. She enjoyed watching all sports, camping, being in the Michigan outdoors, gaming, and spending time with her grandchildren. Barb is survived by her children, Julie Weiss of Jenison; Jodi Scott of Fremont; Laurie (Brian) Blum of Houston, Texas; Dale (Lenore) Bacon of Fremont; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; her brother, Buck (Marsha) Willis of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Doreen (Dick) Schummer of Swartz Creek, Michigan; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Jane Bacon of Phoenix, Arizona; Charles Bacon of Fremont. Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob"; son-in-law, Kent Scott. VISITATION : Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 11am – 12pm at the Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel.
