Barbara Arlene Thatcher, age 94 of White Cloud, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024 at the Corewell Gerber Memorial Hospital in Fremont following a brief illness.  Barb was born on July 28, 1929 to Ford and Eva (Patterson) Goyings, in the same house she grew up in Wilcox Township.  Barb graduated from White Cloud High School in 1947 and later married Harold E. Thatcher on June 26, 1954 in White Cloud.  Harold preceded her in death on June 4, 2005.  Barb began working at the Newaygo County Health Department and later as a driver the disabled and then began a career at the White Cloud Public Schools where she became head of the food service department and then worked in the administration office until her retirement.  Barb then began her second career and was the secretary at the White Cloud United Methodist Church for 23 years and continued that job until her passing.  Barb was a lifelong member of the White Cloud United Methodist Church where she enjoyed bible study, women's fellowship and activities at the church.  She enjoyed crafts and flower and vegetable gardening at home and was never one to sit idle and was always on the go.

Barb is survived by her children, Diana (Randy) Stromquist of Grant; Joe (Lydia) Thatcher of White Cloud; Gregory Thatcher of White Cloud; Scott (Angie) Thatcher of White Cloud; her grandchildren and great grandchildren, grandson - Jack Matych; granddaughter - Niki (Aaron) Bloem and their children – Grace and John; granddaughter - Heather (significant other, Neal Maloney) Stromquist and their children, Sawyer, Rebecca, and Racheal; grandson, Joe Thatcher Jr.; granddaughter, Kacy (significant other, Andrew Bird) Thatcher and their children, Cree, Eva, Ivy, Nina, Kayden; granddaughter – Kristin (Jake) Currier and their son, Koda Scott;  grandson - Kyler Thatcher;  several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.  Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Thatcher; her brothers, Kenneth Goyings and Harold Goyings.

VISITATION : Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 11am -1pm at the White Cloud United Methodist Church 1125 E.
