Beatrice Marie Priest, age 82 of Newaygo and formerly of Rochester and Traverse City, passed away surrounded by her family, on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at her son's home following a stroke. Beatrice was born on August 18, 1934 in Detroit to Edward and Lucille (Borski) Timmony. Beatrice graduated from Oakland University where she received her Master's Degree in Psychology and later worked as a vocational rehab counselor for the State of Michigan in Pontiac until her retirement. Beatrice later moved to Traverse City and then to Newaygo where she lived at The Brook Retirement Community. Beatrice was an adventurous individual and at the age of 65 traveled to Poland with only a backpack. Beatrice enjoyed traveling and spent time camping in Grand Marias in the Upper Peninsula and winters camping in Florida. Beatrice enjoyed reading, riding her bike, cross country skiing, and in her younger years raised horses and had been a barrel racer. She had a fond love for her dogs and cat as well.

Beatrice is survived by her sons, Andrew (Patricia) Priest of Wellston; Matthew (Laura) Priest of White Cloud; Patrick Priest of Cortez, Colorado; Paul (Hyejung) Priest of Chicago; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
