Ben Overley, age 91, of Newaygo, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. Ben was born on November 17, 1926, in Newaygo to Carl and Wealtha (Harrison) Overley and married Joan "Jody" J. Presler on December 31, 1948, in Newaygo. Ben was a machinist at Teledyne Continental Motors for many years and proudly served his Country during WWII in the United States Army. Ben enjoyed roller skating in his earlier years and was a member of the Grace Bible Church in Newaygo. Ben is survived by his children, Elizabeth Jayne (David) Quick of Newaygo, Judith Anne (Jeff) Gillespie of Florida, Andrew Cort (Julie) Overley of Newaygo, and Adam (Jackie) Overley of Sparta; five grandchildren, Paige, Justin, Nicole, Hannah, and Kayleigh; many great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Jody in 2012; brothers and sisters, Eleanor, Dora, Nellie, Mildred, Charles, and Steven; and grandson, Steven Jr. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 29, 2018, at 11 AM from the Grace Bible Church in Newaygo with Pastor David Simmer officiating. There will be visitation and time to greet the family one hour prior to the service at the Church. Interment will be in Newaygo Cemetery.
