Bern Karnemaat, age 75, of Fremont and Hudsonville went to be with his Lord on Saturday, July 14, 2001. He was preceded in death by his first wife Dorothy and son Fred. Surviving are his wife Gen (Groen), his children and grandchildren John and Sheryl K. (Carey) Karnemaat of Ohio. Deb and Jay Schuitema (Caleb, Joseph, Thomas) of Spring Lake. Stepchildren and step great- grand children Bob and Debra Groen (Rachelle, Josh, Ben, Ross). Ron and Tammy Groen (Torey, Alden, Jeremy). His sister Helen Rozell. His sister-in-law Wilma and Marlin Grant of MN. Step brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws Judd & Marge Kolkman, Ed & Pat De Ridder, Harold & Annette De Ridder, and Roger & Ellen De Ridder. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 18, 2001 from the First Christian Reformed Church with interment in Maple Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hunntingtons Chorea. Visitation was held at the Matthysse and Kuiper Funeral Home in Grandville and the following evening at Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel.
