Bernard R. "Russ" Reaume Jr., age 70 of Fremont, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the Newaygo County Compassion Home in Fremont following his battle with cancer. Russ was born on October 3, 1952 in Detroit area to Bernard R. "Barney" and Jeanine (Inch) Reaume Sr. and graduated from Romulus High School. Russ met and later married Julie Smith on September 5, 1970 in Hesperia and has been a resident of the Fremont area for the past 52 years. Russ had been a supervisor for Hardman Construction building bridges throughout Michigan for over 30 years until his retirement in 2010. Russ was a collector of items including coins and enjoyed traveling and gaming. Russ especially treasured the time he spent with his grandsons and family. Russ is survived by his wife of 52 years, Julie of Fremont; his son, Rusty (Kimberly Hagan) Reaume of Manton; daughter Misti Husby of Lansing; his grandsons, Cody Reaume and Jasper Reaume; his mother, Jeanine Reaume of Fremont; sisters, Laura (Colin) King of Colon, Michigan; Amy (David) Zielinski of Crossville, Tennessee; Mickey (Patrick) Conklin of East Boardman, Michigan; Ricky Reaume of White Cloud; many nieces and nephews. Russ was preceded in death by his father, Bernard "Barney" Reaume in 2011. Private services will be held at the family home in the summer of 2023.
