Volz, Berniece E. Berniece E. Volz, age 80 of White Cloud, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2006 at the Heartland Nursing Center in Whitehall. Berniece was born on February 27, 1926 in Lincoln Township to George and Leona (Welch) Blank and graduated from White Cloud High School in 1944. She later met and married William Volz on July 8, 1946 in White Cloud and has been a lifelong resident of the White Cloud area. Berniece had worked at Branchs Dry Goods Store in White Cloud as a clerk and also at Gerber Products Company and was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading romance novels and had enjoyed traveling to New Mexico and Florida. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, William Bill Volz of White Cloud; her brother, George (Mary Lou) Blank of Grand Rapids; brother-in-laws, Melvin E. (Linda) Volz of Florida; Richard Volz of Fremont; sisters-in-laws, Elinore Pic (Dale) Lesman of Allegan; Leona (Pudge) Volz of White Cloud; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 from the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel with Rev. Richard Hoogerhyde of the Christ Lutheran Church presiding with interment in the Sherman Township Cemetery. Friends may consider Heartland Hospice for memorial contributions in memory of Berniece.
