Betty Lou Barrett, age 92 of Fremont, passed away following a short time decline in her health. Betty was born on April 30, 1929 in St. Louisville, Ohio to Ora and Nellie (Devoll) Holton and later married Richard E. Barrett on August 21, 1948 at Rocky Fork Church of Christ in Ohio. Richard preceded her in death on April 25, 2015. Betty moved to the Fremont area from Grand Rapids in 1978 and had worked at Sears Department Store as a sales representative and later worked in the food service department at Pathfinder School in the Fremont Public Schools where she was known as "Miss Betty". Betty had been an active member of the Fremont Christian Church in Fremont where she arranged funeral luncheons for many years, and was active in the Women's Association at the church as well as the Christian Women's Fellowship, Betty was an avid bowler throughout her entire life, bowling up until the age of 90. Betty is survived by her daughters, Deborah Lusk of Fremont; Denise "Dee" (David) Steele of Fremont and Florida; her grandchildren, Nicole (Willie) Morgan; Matthew Barrett; Shane (Amy) Steele; Dusty Lusk; several great and great great grandchildren; her brother, Richard (Erma) Holton of Ohio; her sisters, Patricia Smith of Ohio; Sandy Bagent of Ohio; several necies and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Richard on April 25, 2015; her son, Donald Barrett on March 6, 2020; her sisters, Catherine Humphrey, Norma Londat, Bernice West; and her brother, Robert Holton.
