Smith, Betty R. Betty R. Smith, age 75 of White Cloud, formerly of Pontiac, Michigan, passed away Monday, July 16, 2007 at her home. Betty was born on February 11, 1932 in Lake Angelus, Michigan to William and Wilhelmina (Wice) Beckett and spent her school years in Lake Angelus, graduating from Pontiac Central High School. She later met and married Lloyd Smith on July 7, 1956 in Pontiac and together, they just celebrated their 51st Wedding Anniversary. Betty has been a resident of the White Cloud area when she moved in 1987 from Waterford Township. Betty had been active in the Everett Township Government where she had served on the Everett Township Board; White Cloud Area Fire Board and was active in the Friends of the White Cloud Library. Betty is survived by her husband, Lloyd of White Cloud; her daughters, Loy Marie (Ronald) VanBoxel of White Cloud; Tammy Jean (Larry) Irwin of Malden, Missouri; her son, Leslie Dale Smith of Pontiac; 3 grandchildren, Amanda Ruth (Josh) Clark of White Cloud; Brandon J Bronkhorst of Grand Rapids; Micquaya May VanBoxel of White Cloud; her great grand daughter, Caya Marie Bronkhorst of White Cloud; her sister, Connie Norman of Pontiac; her brother, Larry (Diane) Beckett of Lake Angelus, Michigan; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Wilhelmina Beckett; her sister and brothers, Verna Brooks; Norman Beckett; Herman Beckett; Bill Beckett; Mervin Beckett. Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 21, 2007 from the New Life Assembly of God Church in White Cloud with Rev. Paul Feuerstein presiding with interment in the Big Prairie Everett Township Cemetery.
